Kaplan City Guide: Chicago

If you are looking for history, adventure, breathe-taking views, and American culture, then Chicago is the perfect place to visit. The third largest city in the United States, Chicago is located on the southwestern shores of Lake Michigan. It’s best known for its amazing architecture, culture, and world–class food.

We asked some of our Kaplan students studying in Chicago what their favorite things about the city were, and here’s what they had to say.

Relax and enjoy Millennium Park

“The perfect day in Chicago is to have brunch... then go to see the Buckingham Fountain and walk around Millennium Park.”

Roman Dubois, France

At this gigantic park you be able to explore amazing sculptures such as the city’s most famous one – The Cloud Gate Sculpture, also known as the “bean”. It was created by Anish Kapoor and is made of 168 highly polished stainless steal plates. This is a great spot to take selfies and share your Chicago #kaplanexperience. During the summer the, Millennium Park has a lot of free concerts where you can go and visit with your friends and in the winter they have a ice rink where more than 100,000 ice skaters glide, spin, twirl, and undoubtedly stumble and fall!
