GMAT® Preparation Courses

Hoping to attend business school and get an MBA? You’ll likely have to take the GMAT® as part of the admissions process. To optimize your score and remove the stress of the situation, consider taking one of our GMAT® Preparation Courses.

What is the GMAT®?

The Graduate Management Admissions Test, or GMAT®, is an exam designed to test analytical, quantitative, verbal, reading, and writing skills. It is required for all MBA programs in the US and for select MBAs in Canada.

The test is a requirement for applications to business masters programs, but does not directly test business knowledge. Instead, the test is meant to test students’ problem-solving, critical reasoning, and analytical writing abilities. Test-makers believe these skills are vital to success in business and management.

What are GMAT® Exam Preparation Courses like?

Kaplan’s GMAT® for International Students courses combine print and online exercises using Kaplan’s exclusive materials, and are based on Kaplan’s trusted domestic GMAT® course. The average class size is 15 students, and classes can be no larger than 30.

Our international courses are adapted from the domestic to include additional lessons focusing on improving students’ English. The courses are 12 weeks in length, following a dynamic schedule of 45-minute lessons. These lessons are divided into two types: GMAT® Preparation lessons and Structured Study sessions.

Students’ first week will include 12 lessons of GMAT® Preparation to explain each component of the test and materials, alongside 18+ sessions of Structured Study, where students complete full-length practice tests, workshops and quizzes to familiarize themselves with the layout and expectations of the exam.

Weeks 2-6 will place slightly more focus on the Structured Study sessions to further prepare students, with 8 lessons of Preparation and 22+ of Study.

To maximize review time, from week 7 onward students will have of 28+ sessions of Structured Study with additional work on English skills to fully prepare for the upcoming exam. These weeks will also include a further Q&A review session with the teacher and ongoing support so that students can focus on struggle areas or ask for help with specific topics.
