GRE® Preparation Courses Explained

Hoping to get your Master’s or Doctorate in the USA or Canada? You’ll likely have to submit GRE® scores as part of your application. Our GRE® Preparation courses are designed to maximize your scores and improve your chances of getting into the grad school of your choice.

What is the GRE®?

The Graduate Record Examination, or GRE®, is a requirement for most graduate programs in the United States and select programs in Canada. The test measures verbal and quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills that are not tied to a specific subject but instead show a student’s ability to think and reason.

What are the GRE® Preparation Courses like?

Our GRE® Preparation Courses for International Students are specially designed courses meant to teach students about the structure of the GRE® and the types of topics and questions that are on the exam. In addition to this test prep, the courses boost and review important English language skill. The course is divided into two types of 45-minute lessons and lasts for 12 weeks.

GRE® Preparation lessons focus on each section of the exam using exclusive Kaplan course materials, practicing verbal skills, analytical writing, and test-taking strategies. Students receive 8 of these lessons in weeks 1-6.

In the Structured Study sessions, students will take full-length practice tests and undergo workshops and quizzes to fully familiarize themselves with the exam. Students get 20+ of these lessons in weeks 1-6 and 30+ in weeks 7-12 to fully prepare them for the upcoming exam.

Weeks 7-12 will also include an hour of Teachback sessions, where students will have a question and answer session with their teacher to focus on struggle areas or request help with specific topics.
