Intensive English Courses Explained
Looking to improve your English through one of Kaplan’s language schools? Why not consider one of our intensive English courses and learn that much quicker! We design these courses to quickly improve your English skills and prepare your for new academic and professional opportunities.
What is the intensive English course?
The intensive English courses maximize your classroom hours, with 28 45-minute lessons a week, and allows you to achieve fluency much more quickly while immersing yourself in the language of your new temporary home.
With our intensive classes, you will take 20 lessons of General English, focusing on reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Additionally, you’ll have 8 lessons in specific skills of your choice.
The skills classes you can choose from will depend on your school, but include English for Business, Local Culture, Current Affairs, Film Studies, and many others. Students can also take skills lessons in IELTS or TOEFL to prepare for future exams.
In addition to these classes, students in the intensive program also have 7 K+ Sessions a week, where you can use the K+ facilities to complement your in-class lessons with a range of online tools, books, apps, and games.
Who can take this course?
The intensive courses are ideal for any students from elementary to advanced levels, and are open to any student 16 years of age or older.
How long is the intensive English course?
With the intensive English course, students can start their lessons on any Monday and continue studying for as many weeks as they need, with a minimum length of two weeks. It’s up to you how long you’d like to stay and how much improvement you’d like to see!
Students also have the option of taking Intensive English Academic Year or Intensive English Academic Semester courses.

The Business English skills lessons will specifically prepare students for workplace communication, meeting participation, business writing, and interview techniques. The courses as a whole, however, will provide unmatched progress and invaluable English language skills that will be an asset in any career.
