Life@Kaplan: Kaplan Celebrates the Oscars

If you’re a fan of cinema, you’ll know that yesterday was the biggest day in the film calendar year; the Academy Awards.

Here at Kaplan, we love Hollywood (and dressing up!), so in celebration of the awards, the marketing team also took to the red carpet and had a special party of our own! We had popcorn, a movie quiz and handed out prizes for Best Dressed Actor and Actress (Morag and Dominic).

We asked our fans to decide which famous film characters and movie stars we should all go as; can you recognize them?

I was voted to go as Catwoman by our fans, but can you guess Morag's famous costume?

Film and cinema play an important part in many of our schools social activities and learning programs, as many students find them to be a useful listening method learning to speak a new language. According to our survey,  the Harry Potter series are the most popular films for learning English outside of the classroom.

To see more photos from our Oscars party, and to submit your guesses about who everyone dressed up as, you can visit our Facebook page for the whole album.

Are you a movie buff? If so, which ones have you been watching to help you learn English?
