Life@Kaplan: The sky's the limit for our long term English learners

Lots of our long term English learners find that our academic courses improve their chances of furthering their studies. We spoke to Bader from Libya who studied at our Kaplan Covent Garden school in London to help achieve his goals of becoming a pilot.

Here is his story:

"I decided to study at Kaplan Covent Garden because I want to be a pilot and you need to be able to speak English both to study for this and in the career itself. The best way of learning the language is by studying in a native speaking country.

When I arrived in the UK, I took the Intensive Academic Semester course because I couldn't speak English at all and I had to work hard. My teachers at Kaplan were the best. They helped me a lot when I needed them. They were always there when I needed guidance and encouraged me by giving me extra support.

Whilst studying at Kaplan I learned a lot because now I can speak English fluently.  When I started I was at elementary level and I finished at advanced.

Now that I've finished studying at Kaplan, I'm going to start studying at the Westbeach Flight Academy, which is based in the UK. I will be studying in English and using my language skills to communicate to my teachers and my classmates.

My advice first of all is that if you want to go to university or to continue studying, you need to improve your English in an English speaking country. Thanks to studying at Kaplan, I'm achieving my dream of studying to become a pilot and I have lots of friends from all over the world."
